First Five On Friday

Hallelujah It's Friday!!! I don't know about you, but even after having an extra day off I am ready for the work week to be over! Here are some of the highlights of this week!

1. We finally moved into the house we've been renting! We've been fixing up the kitchen and this past weekend was the move date. It's out in the country in a beautiful valley, and I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to wake up to those beautiful mountains every morning!

2. I think the thing my husband was most excited about with the move was that he could finally get a grill! We went and picked it up on major sale at Lowe's and have used it quite a few times already! A lot of chicken and yummy veggies!

3. We are almost done painting/distressing this dining room table! It was free to me from a friend who found it at Goodwill, we had been looking for one, and this is just perfect! I'll be sure to post pictures of the final results!!

4. I just dropped this adorable puppy off to get his summer shave, that is not a happy Friday thing, because I love it when he's fluffy, but we're hoping this will cool him down, since he now has a yard to run around in! (Just ignore his beard from the dew this morning! haha )

5. Maleficent - I have heard mixed reviews about this movie, but I am so excited to see it! I love all things Disney, and Aurora was always my favorite princess! Angelina Jolie is an amazing actress so I'm hoping I won't be disappointed when we go to see it this weekend!

Today I am linking up with Darci for my first Five on Friday!

2014 Reading List

I love to read, but often I don't give myself the time for it, or I simply re-read books I know that I already love. My husband reads, but is pretty bad about only reading books for work. This year we decided to each make a reading list that included some books we wouldn't normally read. We put 10 books on each of our reading lists. That's not to say we are only going to read 10 books!! I just like having a list of books that I do want to finish before the year, some of them have been on my list for a while but they aren't "fun" reads, and I need a little extra motivation for them!

Sometimes I get home from work and all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV so I don't have to think about anything. However, when I make the time to read instead of watch TV, I feel like I've actually accomplished something during that relaxing time!

I encourage you to start a reading list if you don't already have one! I've found out about a lot of great books from bloggers by reading their reviews. Feel free to leave any reading suggestions or your reading list in the comments!

Hello there! Well I've finally made the plunge into blogging world! I love blogs, I spend probably way too much time following quite a few of them! I love that blogging has added a new dimension of communication and creativity to so many people's lives! There are so many women I admire in blogs because of their honesty, and I feel like by sharing, whether it's a recipe, DIY project, or a transparent post about something they're struggling with, it helps us to realize nobody has it all together all the time, and we are all navigating through this crazy world together!

Here's a little more about me! My name is Jessica, I love fancy coffee drinks, music, flowers, decorating, reading, shopping, and plenty of other things you'll find out about along the way! I have a wonderful husband (Aaron), and puppy(Zeke). Aaron and I have been married for about a year and a half, and just moved to Virginia last June, coming up on a year! We moved here for my husband's job, he is a Student Ministries' Pastor. We love our church, and are so thankful that God has brought us here!

The Rose Corner will hopefully be a place where I can document this wonderful life that I've been blessed with! Expect a lot of variety, I've noticed that all of my favorite blogs don't have a specific topic they always write about, but just share what is going on in their every day life!

Thank you again for stopping by, more posts will be here soon!!
